Velvet is an adorable young Staffordshire/Lab mix who has been at the shelter for over 4 months now! Because of her long stay, she has gotten more energetic and more anxious to find a home! Most shelters are filled to capacity with stray animals, but with owner surrenders it makes finding homes for everyone impossible. Before you buy or adopt an adorable puppy or kitten, think about the time and commitment you'll have to put into them. People have surrendered their pets because of allergies within the family, already having too many pets, cost of maintenance of pets, house soiling, landlord with not allow pets, pet is too old or no time for pet. These reasons are OUR fault, not the pet's fault, yet we still surrender our pets to shelters where their fate is grim...
