Greg and Gordon's previous owner had a very hard life and could just no longer keep these two boys. They were very much loved and well-taken care of, but unfortunately they need (a) new home(s)! They are very similar is coloring and personality, as they are brothers. They both are very well-mannered and are both VERY affectionate! They absolutely love attention and will rest their heads in your lap waiting for your love. Although they are a bit timid, they really do shine once they feel safe. Greg is the more outgoing of the two and Gordon is a bit shyer. But they are BOTH two cuddle bugs who will always be by your side. They bond easily with new people and are there for you! These two boys are very bonded and would LOVE a home together, but can be adopted separately. They aren't too big, both medium sized dogs and very easy to handle. Both are very gentle and would rather just hang out with people than exercising. Greg and Gordon are two BEAUTIFUL dogs who deserve better! Please consider meeting this two gems...

Tawny is an absolutely gorgeous dog with a personality to match! Tawny is a favorite of mine at the shelter! This girl is eager to please and very well-mannered. She walks nicely on a leash and knows some basic commands. She loves to cuddle and loves your lovin'. Words just cannot describe how wonderful this dog is. She is so attentive and always checks in for your approval. She is very people orientated and is all about pleasing you! Although she is a well-mannered and rather mellow girl, if you coax her into playing, she will start to do play bows and run around. It is very cute how she plays, but it's not over the top. Tawny would make a great family dog as she listens well and is real tolerant. Tawny is a gem! Anyone who adopts this girl is VERY lucky!

This is one cute girl who is a timid and shy around new people, however that doesn't stop her from trying to get your attention. She is really trying to come out of her shell, but the shelter is just such a scary place! Please consider meeting this girl in person, because once she feels comfortable around you, she will inch and wiggle her way to you. Once she does she waits for you to pet her, and then will roll over for you to pet her belly. She seems like she will turn into a great dog in the right home which is experienced with shy dogs. Hercules is one hunk of love! He weighs over 100 pounds, so this is one BIG boy. He is also very strong and pulls on the leash. So he will need some training or someone who is experienced with big dogs. He is incredibly sweet and is not aggressive at all, he just is strong. One word to describe Nicholas is a dork! This one is so silly and has SO much personality! He will do spins, play bows and give his paw out to you to get you to play with him or at least get your attention! He absolutely LOVES to be the center of attention and constantly wants to play, play and play!!! He is a pretty energetic boy who is a bit out of control at times, but can you blame him?! He is a good 80+ pound size dog stuck in a small kennel! Although he may seem like he is a pretty confident boy, he actually is kind of a baby and is scared of walking on linoleum floors. He is a LOT of fun, but he does also needs a LOT of work. No kids for this big boy and a preferably a experienced home with German Shepherds. He is real sweet, but he is real exhuberant and can get a little mouthy at time. He is still real young and will learn quickly with the right home! Busters is a sweet, sweet guy who unfortunately has heartworm... However, he is SUCH a nice dog that the shelter will treat him if we can find a foster-to-adopt home for him. In the beginning heartworm treatment stages, he should rest and not run around. However, that shouldn't be too hard for Butters as he is already a real mellow and easy-going guy. Butters deserves this opportunity to get better! This boy is unbelievably sweet and loyal! He is such a gentleman, walks well on a leash, very gentle and always is eager to please! Butters would make a great family pet and would be great for nearly anyone as he is that great of a dog! Please give him a chance!

I absolutely love this dog! Humbolt Hank is so stunning in person and he also has quite the personality! He is in great shape, clean and well-trained! How his owners surrendered this boy?! Beats me! I could not give this boy up! He knows how to heel on the leash, he knows sit and down, and is incredibly eager to please! He is very sweet and loves to give kisses. He also is so much fun! He LOVES to play and loves to have you chase him. And if you don't want to chase him, he will keep trying! He will come over to you and then bolt. He is very wiggly, always happy and he greets new people by giving them play bows and some kisses. He is so playful and so much fun! However, when you want him to come back, he will. He knows his name, so it shouldn't be changed. He is a GREAT dog who is TOO wonderful to be at a shelter! Hank will provide you will countless hours of fun and don't worry, lots of kisses too!

Anna is just about 4 years old. Her story is sad. She came to our shelter as a stray dog. Her gentle manner quickly won the hearts of staff and volunteers. If you are having a hard day Anna is just the dog to cuddle up with. If you are happy Anna will romp and play with you. When we spayed Anna we noticed one of her nipples seems enlarged, so it was removed and sent to the lab for a biopsy. The tissue sample came back positive for cancer. Not knowing if the vet was able to remove all the cancer we took her for chest x-rays. The cancer has spread to her lungs. Anna does not appear sick, her energy level is fine and the quality of life for this darling dog is at present good. One of our "Devoted to a Anna" teen volunteers is now fostering Anna. However, she is a busy teen with one parent, in the home, who works full time. Best for Anna would be a committed local foster care home where she would be the only dog. We then would take continued responsibility for her care. We are open to an adopter, but have to be sure they know what is in store and future health needs would be covered by them. Anna may have months or maybe even years... Her future is in our hands and hearts. Are you open to taking on this labor of love? If so please contact us.

Geiser is our adoption coordinator's favorite dog and you'll see why when you meet this handsome fellow. He is real easy-going and very gentle. He would make an excellent family dog as he is just that sweet and well-behavored. Although by his pictures, he looks like he might be ball-obbessed. He is so happy to be with people and is ready to please! Don't worry, although cuddling is probably his favorite thing to do, he also just loves to play! Jackson was surrendered to the shelter with Jasper because their previous owner had to give them up. Both did nothing wrong, just now need a new home together or separately (BUT preferably together as they LOVE eachother). Jackson came into the shelter pretty scared and nervous. He did not know how to walk on a leash or even know what a leash was. Everyday though he is getting better. He is much more confident and outgoing with people. He still is a little hesitant walking on a leash, but much he will walk on a leash and doesn't pull. Jackson LOVES people and LOVES to cuddle. He can be a bit nervous of sudden movements or loud noises, because he thinks maybe he did something wrong. He really tries to please and is a very loyal dog. Bob may not be that old, but he reminds me of a wise old man who has been through a lot. He is very mellow and takes everything in strides. Dello is a very sweet and submissive girl who was adopted from us last year. Her previous owner adopted a new dog that did not get along with Effie, so she brought Effie back, which makes absolutely no sense to me. She brought the dog back who she had the longest, not the new addition. So, she brought Effie back saying she did not get along with female dogs, but when we tested her with other dogs, she was very nervous and rather submissive. So, we aren't sure what the other dog must have done to her to make her so scared. Poor Effie hasn't really been loved... Please show her what it's like to have a caring family! With the few minutes I spent with Chad so far, he has won my heart! He is very shy of new people and very nervous from being at the shelter. He seems like he isn't use to meeting a lot of new people, but also the shelter is just a very scary place to be in. So Chad is having a hard time settling in. However, even while he is shaking with nerves, he still really tries to please and really wants your love. If you sit down, pet him and stay on his level, he will begin to trust you. And if you talk to him in a baby voice, he will start to wag his tail and some nice wet food helps bring out that wag too! He actually is an incredibly sweet boy who will be very loyal once he knows you. He bonds with people pretty quickly. Chad is incredibly affectionate who likes to stay by your side. He seems like he would like to play once he is more comfortable, with a couple bounces of the tennis ball, he wanted to play a little bit. He also thought the squeaky toy was interesting. So, once he is in a loving home, I'm sure he would play and be incredibly loyal. Chad is a smart boy who already knows some basic commands and he walks nicely on a leash. Chad is a really sweet boy who is looking for someone who will just give him a CHANCE! He will show his true, sweet colors once he is OUT of the shelter and in a loving home... Suzie Q was adopted from us as a little puppy and now she is back as an adult. Her previous owners did not have secure fencing, so they surrendered her to the shelter. They said that she loves kids and does great with them! So, I'd say this is one good family dog! They said she did fine with cats as she is afraid of them and does fine with other dogs. Then, get back up and start walking, which is a huge improvement for this boy. And in no time he will walk completely on a leash. He is still a bit shy around new people, but he is getting better. Once he knows you though and you see the real Jasper, he will melt your heart. He certainly has won my heart over... He will curl up on the couch with you and rest his big head and big lips on your lap and give you the sweetest look you could possibly imagine. He is INCREDIBLY sweet and really tries hard to please you. He is very loyal and will constantly be by your side. He is very mellow, easy-going and gentle. He is very charming and just adores people once he knows your safe. Jasper would like to live in a calm home with or without his brother, Jackson. He will lean against your leg for love and just wait even if you aren't petting him at that moment. He is a very polite boy who has great manners! He never jumps and doesn't seem to bark. He walks nicely on a leash and even knows some basic commands. He is very eager to please and loves relaxing with people. Honey is an absolutely beautiful dog who has been hanging around a neighboorhood for awhile and someone finally brought her in. Lucas was one of the five dogs transferred from the Merced County Shelter where he did not have much time left. So, now he is getting another chance to find a home of his own! Good thing, because this guy is just so charming and VERY adorable! He loves to play and loves to make you happy. He is constantly wiggling and smiling. He loves people and is very eager to please! He knows some basic commands and would love to learn more as he is very smart! Lucas likes to play with other dogs and would be good with teenagers since he is a pretty bubbly guy.
